Deviation Actions
We have just recently created a new folder within the gallery and thought we should announce and explain it via the journal. The new folder is entitled, "Awareness" and is for those photos which bring awareness to pet-related causes. These photos generally break the rules regarding text on the image, but are otherwise group-worthy images. So that we are not declining these group-worthy images, and because it is important to bring awareness to pet-related situations, we feel these should be allowed into the group via their own folder.

Reason For Decline - Available Upon Request
This is not a new policy, just a re-announcement of one that was made several months ago. We feel the re-announcement is necessary to inform new members and to remind or clarify for older members who were here before and during this policy change.
The policy regarding declined images is as follows: We no longer automatically give reasons for declines. We have chosen to do this because of the large number of submission we receive vs. the number of members who didn't seem to care one way or the other if we informed them or not. So, to avoid wasting everyone's time commenting to those who didn't care either way, we implemented a rule stating th

A Change in Procedure
Currently, if an image is declined, a member of staff will inform you of the reason(s) it was declined, whether you asked for it or not. This will change.
Starting today, only those interested in receiving a reason for their declined images will receive one. When submitting your work, or after receiving notice that your image has been declined, you must request to know the reason if you'd like to know. If you are not interested in knowing the reason, you need do nothing more than submit your work and wait to see the outcome.
Thanks you for your patience and understanding.

Just wanted to say that I think this is a great addition to the group's gallery. I just wish there were some submissions in that folder, but sadly I see none, which is a shame.
Would just typical photography with a very important message in the artist's comments / description of the deviation that raises valid points, promotes awareness and is intended to educate the public on pet related issues count instead of photography that contains text on the image itself? Or is it a must that the image has text directly on it in order to be accepted into that folder?
